About OPMA

Okanogan Producers Marketing Association

WHO WE ARE

Established in 2006, OPMA has since built strong connections with our valued customers, earning a well-deserved reputation for delivering exceptional fruit quality, outstanding customer service, and reliable shipments. Our small farms operate in tandem, sharing resources, equipment, knowledge, expertise, and collaborating on marketing and sales efforts. This close working relationship among the farms is dedicated to enhancing the overall experience for the customers we proudly serve. We firmly believe that through these partnerships, we bring far more value to our customers than we ever could as separate farms and farmers.

Our regular season kicks off in June and concludes in early February. Throughout our peak period, we send out deliveries five days a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to Western Washington, Tuesdays to Spokane, and Thursdays to the Methow Valley.

Okanogan Producers Marketing Association is a cooperative of six small family farms working together in the Okanogan Valley in North Central Washington State's glacial valleys. Our six farms include Apple Cart Fruit, Bunny Laine Fruit, Filaree Fruit, Grandpa's Homeplace, M & A Orchards, and Whitestone Mountain Orchard.

QUALITY | SUSTAINABILITY | RESILIENCE

The naturally warm and sunny climate in the Okanogan creates an ideal environment for producing the highest quality fruit globally! Employing methods like color picking and flavor-focused picking, we ensure our fruit is harvested at peak ripeness, repeating the process for optimal results. At OPMA, expect tree-ripened, exceptional quality fruit. Each of our six farms handles the picking and packing on-site, and our deliveries promptly follow the packing process, guaranteeing our customers receive the freshest products available in the market.

OPMA’s efficient delivery process, ensuring a swift journey from tree to consumer, is the foundation of our product guarantee. We have rigorous packing standards and a comprehensive food safety plan adhered to by each farm. All six farms are Certified Organic by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Committed to responsible practices, we prioritize sustainable growing techniques, acting as stewards of both the land and our local communities.

Transparency and authenticity are paramount to us. We disclose to our customers the specific farm of origin and the packing date for each product. When you choose fruit from OPMA, you can trust that you’ll always have clear information about when, where, and who your fruit comes from.

Our emphasis lies in crop diversification to create habitats for wildlife, safeguard biodiversity, and fortify climate resilience. This commitment translates into OPMA boasting a broad and diverse range of products. Consider our 2.5-acre plot with over 25 heirloom varieties and another farm cultivating 57 different varieties, encompassing 14 types of apples, all within an 11-acre space. In addition, we cultivate larger quantities of traditional favorites like Honeycrisp Apples and sweet cherries. This diverse approach not only enriches our offerings but also contributes to ecological sustainability and resilience.

At OPMA, our employees are at the forefront of our priorities. We ensure their well-being by fostering safe and healthy working conditions, offering fair wages, and championing diversity, equity, and inclusion across the entire organization. Our farms are led by individuals from the 2nd and 3rd generations, as well as women and Hispanics, reflecting the rich tapestry of our community. As we collectively strive for sustainability, all our farms are dedicated to leaving behind a legacy of organic farming that will endure for generations to come.
